Our story

The art of patina

Patina is colour applied by hand to crust leather, one thin layer after another, until the depth and the shading are right. Our colourist works on one pair at a time, often in two tones.

No two pairs are ever identical

Because each pair is painted by hand, yours will be close to the one in the photograph, with shading of its own.

A colour that keeps developing

Patina deepens with wear and with care. A little cream and a shine bring it back to life. Over the years it takes on the marks of the person who wears it.

Your own colour

You can choose a colour with our colourist, for a new pair or to restore an old one. Book a fitting or message us on LINE @mangomojito and tell us you would like to talk about patina. We quote each pair once we know the colours and finish you want.
